Have been learning from Reeves for about a month now. I've attended lessons at music schools before but stopped due to the lack of flexibility that I needed as a working adult. I have always wanted to learn piano since I was a child but did not get the chance. Now as an adult, I still have the dreams of learning how to play the piano.

Reeves is an extremely patient and encouraging piano teacher! I have been taking lessons with him for the past 6 months and lessons are always very enjoyable and stress-free. He teaches a new song every week so the lessons remain interesting and he always does his best to accommodate my song requests.

I didn't think I'd ever be relearning the piano online but here I am! And I realise it is a format that works well for me, given my schedule and also the benefits of notation, visibility of the notes etc that online learning offers.

Teacher Reeves is a very friendly pop piano teacher. He teaches me how to play pop piano with different left hand patterns, how to harmonize the melody and also how to detect the chords by my own.

I started as an absolute beginner with no prior experience in music and am very pleased with how much progress I've made thus far. Every lesson is planned and catered to continuously grow and hone your skills; they're never too difficult but challenging enough to push you beyond your comfort zones, and only if you're ready for it. 😁

I've been taking contemporary piano lessons from Reeves for a few years already, and I enjoy it so much! He prepares the lesson to cater to each individual's tastes, learning style and preferences. … I've seen myself improve despite my very busy work schedule, and Reeves has been so accommodating.

During this covid period, I was also amazed by the effort that Reeves placed into shifting his lessons to virtual platforms without reducing the quality. The equipment and softwares that he uses allow the virtual sessions to be conducted clearly, and the virtual sessions sometimes have certain advantages over physical lessons too, such as him using the synthesia to teach allows for a better visual cue. The audio quality is great too!

I have been learning pop piano with Reeves for a few months now. Reeves is a patient and very experienced pop pianist who also has a classical background. This was something I was looking for in a teacher as I wanted to find a teacher to build my pop piano skills on top of my classical background. I am very lucky that as soon as COVID regulations kicked in, Reeves very quickly invested in software and equipment setup to transition to online classes with as minimal disruption as possible. I was initially concerned about having to put lessons on pause and delay my learning. It was a good move as we're unsure how the COVID situation will play out with the constant changes in regulations. I'm happy to be furthering my piano skills with Reeves, 11/10 recommend!

I was apprehensive about switching to online piano lessons at first due to doubt about its effectiveness. I was glad that I made the choice to give it a try. The classes are light hearted and it is very encouraging that you'll master one or two songs just at the first few classes. As a learning adult, I feel that it will be dry going the classic piano route (personal preference) and I would prefer picking up a new skill to see some quick results. Reeves teaches theories in between classes and its definitely less boring! I like how he improvise the classes according to my speed and progress. Most importantly, he is always open to teach and push me to learn or go a step further whenever I share with him songs that seems tougher than the ones I am playing. Learnt a little bit of piano in the past and dreaded the overemphasis on technicalities like scales and theory which can be very dry and boring. Chanced upon Reeves ad online and decided to give it a shot. He specialises in adult pop and rekindled my love for piano again! Started piano with Reeves for months, Reeves was very patience and encouraging. Actually very happy that able to learn via zoom, which it helps save a lot of travel time! Even not face to face teaching, he still manage to point out my wrong notes played, and correct me.

i have been attending Reeves piano lesson since Jan 2021. from physical to online lesson due to heightened alert. Reeves's online lesson is no different as compared to physical lesson. as long as we have a laptop and piano/keyboard at home, we will be able to attend the lesson smoothly. the equipment that Reeves have for online lesson is perfect! i am able to hear his instruction clearly via zoom video call and he is very sharp in noticing that im using wrong fingers to play certain notes or playing the wrong keys. even though we have been informed by govt to "live normally" but i do not wish to go back to physical lesson since online lesson is much convenient to me and as per mentioned, i do not see any differences as compared to physical lesson. :)

Have been learning with Reeves for a year. Friendly coach and able to explain concepts well. His unique coaching methods encouraged me to go with the flow and not too much into memorising scores. I have been wanting to learn piano for a very long time, due to my very hectic work, is hard to find a teacher to accommodate to my timing. I am not particularly incline to any music instrument but learning piano is my childhood dream. I had two piano teachers before Reeves. Reeves is a very patient and accomodating teacher! At the start of my journey with him, he asked me why am I learning so that he can suit his teaching style and methods to where I want to be eventually. I think that's really helpful!

Besides that, Reeves has also been very flexible with regards to scheduling of classes!! Sometimes there are unfortunate last minute changes etc due to work but he has always been very nice and accomodating about it.

Reeves is amazing and he has the greatest passion in music! I am truly fortunate and grateful to have learnt so much from him and he was always encouraging me not to give up on music despite all difficulties! The best thing is feel is that Reeves is very understanding and patience to all of his students. Especially a full-time working adult like me tend to have a lot of mistake during lesson due to lack of time to practice, reeves always give tips on how to manage time to practice.

One of the many reason why I love going to reeves lesson is because of his studio. The studio is so nice and comfortable that you sometimes don't feel like leaving the studio when lesson ends!

Flexible

Reeves is very flexible in his timing. He always will try to cater to student's time and availability and make the arrangement. I always feel bad having to postpone my lesson date. But reeves is so understanding that he will make the proper arrangement. He is also 24hr contactable when student have any question, can ask him after lesson time. So it's very stress free whenever coming to his lesson!

Teaching Style

Every lesson I went, I feel that I always learnt something from the lesson. It is also fun as we get to play our favorite song/pieces. Even if he do not have the your favorite score sheets, he will find it! To be honest at first I hate playing scales every lesson. But after some time , I feel that is very useful whenever I wanted to practice other song elsewhere! I always felt that I am stucked somewhere in my piano learning journey. But when I am under Reeves, I felt that I moving forward, improving and learning new things!

I am so glad that I picked up piano under Reeves. To me he is not just a teacher but a friend to me! I strongly those who want to learn piano to take up lesson with Reeves. You definitely won't regret it!

Although I have played classical piano for a good 10 years of my life, I was never confident (sometimes even ashamed) of my skills and didn't enjoy playing at all. Subsequently, I stopped playing for the next 10 years and and pretty much forgot what I learnt before. But my love for music prompted me to take the step in learning the instrument again and I must say I'm so happy I did.

I was initially afraid to start lessons again because I recalled all the daunting theory lessons and dreadful scales (and scoldings) from my earlier years of playing classical piano. Despite having Reeve's contact, it actually took me a good 2 months to take the leap of faith to drop a message. But Reeves has proven to be the exact opposite of what I remembered piano lessons to be like. Every lesson is fruitful and engaging, and I am always excited to practise when I get home after class.

Reeves makes the effort to accommodate to his students' learning preferences and impart knowledge in areas the student's interests lies. Example, learning only songs the student prefers. This thus sets him apart from a music school.

Reeves had been a helpful and patient teacher. He explores the strength and weaknesses of his students and tried to make every lessons enjoyable.

Being flexible with his time and that made a student like me which needs to work and allowing me to have lessons at my own pace is a big plus point. Other than piano lessons, Reeves helped me with song writing too.

Having piano since the age of 4, I have never met any other teacher like him that can make his lessons fun and not brain draining. So thank you Reeves for letting me know that piano is not that dry and hard to cope with.
