I'm sold with Reeves' online piano lesson. I was initially skeptic about online lesson because I have always been going for physical lessons. However after one try, I am never going back to physical lessons with him. Reeves' set up allows me to focus even better as compared to physical lesson. Reeves also readily expand his song selections just to cater students' liking and intrigued their interests further. Overall, very clear instructions and easy to pick up. Will definitely recommend to my personal friends.

Online Piano Lessons on Zoom
This is my most popular lesson. Around 90% of my students learn online, and some say my online lessons are even more productive than in-person sessions.
What you get online
I've spent the last five years refining my online setup. It gives you tools that aren't possible in a normal in-person lesson:
- A virtual keyboard that lights up as I play, so you can see exactly which notes I'm pressing
- Digital scores shared on screen instantly, with no printing or page-flipping
- Recorded segments of the lesson sent to you right away, so you can practise with them during the week
- Text support between lessons, so you're never stuck until next week
How each lesson works
Lessons are one-to-one, 45 minutes, once a week. In every lesson you learn one pop song as a piano solo and one as an accompaniment, using the left-hand patterns, harmonies and fill-ins from your level of the curriculum.
Rather than spending weeks or months on one song, you build skills you can use on any song.
“Have been having lessons with Reeves for a while now. He is a good teacher and we went from face to face to regular online due to work schedules. I was skeptical about having piano lessons online but it really did work…”
After every lesson
You get a lesson summary of what we covered, what to practise and the recordings I've sent you, plus your progress map with every topic we've covered ticked off.

Recordings to practise with
After the lesson I send you short recordings of what we worked on, so you can play along at home. Here are two examples.

WhatsApp me about online lessonsSetting up for your lesson
You don't need special equipment. Here's the setup I ask students to use:
12- Put a laptop or tablet in front of you to watch my stream, keyboard and scores.
- Place your phone at the side, with its audio off, so I can see your fingers.
- Install the Zoom app on both devices and join with both.
- Set the audio: on a laptop, set Zoom's audio profile to "Low". On a tablet, choose "Original Audio".
- Use the same Zoom link every week. I'll send it to you once.
Not sure about any of this? Join your first lesson on a tablet and I'll guide you through the setup.
What online students say
Reeves has a fantastic breadth of knowledge in teaching and in piano that makes him a great teacher to learn from. His online teaching set up is impressive and well equipped – As a student, I am always able to see what I needed to see, it is just like having a piano teacher next to me. He switches between screens as needed and I can see the fingerings he uses. He truly had his students in mind with the setup he have. It's been such a great online learning experience.
I was apprehensive about switching to online piano lessons at first due to doubt about its effectiveness. I was glad that I made the choice to give it a try. Reeves' online piano lessons prove to be as effective as his physical lessons! With the marvellous home set up he has in place for online lessons, I am able to get the most out of them! Meanwhile, on my part, I only require my phone, iPad and piano/keyboard to attend the lessons from the convenience of my own home. Simple :)

Learn from anywhere
Online lessons work wherever you are, in Singapore or overseas, and save you the travel time. For overseas students, we can work out a lesson time that suits your time zone. If you'd prefer to learn in person, see lessons at my home studio.
Are online lessons as good as in-person lessons?
Yes. Around 90% of my students learn online, and I've spent the last five years refining my online setup. Some students even find online lessons more productive than in-person ones.
Do I need a laptop or a tablet?
Either is fine. Place it in front of you to watch my stream, the keyboard and the scores.
Do I need a webcam?
No, your phone is enough. Place it at the side of your keyboard so I can see your fingers.
Do I need a paid Zoom account?
No. A free Zoom account is all you need to join my lessons.
What keyboard do I need?
A 61-key keyboard is a good start for beginners. As you progress, you can upgrade to an 88-key keyboard.
Do I need to print my scores?
No. I share the scores on screen during the lesson, and send you the same PDF on WhatsApp so you can keep it and practise from it.
Can I rewatch parts of the lesson?
Yes. I send you recorded segments of the lesson right after it ends, so you can practise with them during the week.
Can I switch between online and studio lessons?
Yes. You can switch between online lessons on Zoom and in-person lessons at my home studio in Canberra.
Can I take lessons from outside Singapore?
Yes, I teach students overseas too. Lessons are scheduled in Singapore time (GMT+8), and we can work out a time that suits your time zone.
